I thought would bring back my ‘Four Things I have Liked’ blogs. So here we go…
OF MONSTERS AND MEN
You know when you hear a band and like them for ages? Then you sort of forget about them and then rediscover them? Yeah? Well, I have really liked Of Monsters and Men’s singles and planned to check out them out for ages. Last week I finally purchased their album and it is pretty bloomin marvellous! Full of catchy melodies and great instrumentation. It is a wonderful pop record.
TROUBLE AND DAUGHTER
I discovered this band via the wonderful people at Independent Music who recorded a lovely little session with the band. I really enjoyed the session and the interview with the band. Their EP is rather lovely too. Do check it out.
Myself and Mrs Stylus recently visited Oxford and had a grand time looking around the vintage market, shopping, lunching in a quirky deli and popping to the cinema. My sister went to University in Oxford and so I know it reasonably well. It’s a beautiful place and I highly recommend you visit.
You may have seen last summer a giant Lady Godiva statue on bike leaving Coventry?! Lady Godiva was a lady from history who rode around Coventry without any clothes on to protest about taxes (Read more HERE). A group of amazingly creative people from Coventry created a celebration of Coventry through this giant statue / model. It was ridden down to London last summer for the Olympics and earlier this week it returned to Coventry. It was a stunning event and a brilliant day for Coventry.
