I’m super excited to say that my new single Fourteen Days is out now! Today is ‘Bandcamp Friday’ where they waive their fees and all the money goes straight to the artists. I have released Fourteen Days as a download single alongside a special acoustic recording of the song only available on Bandcamp.
It is an honour to capture and share John’s incredible story through this song. John, a brilliant 102-year-old gentleman who I met during a songwriting project with the Coventry-based charity Good Neighbours. When John was a pilot in WWII, he was shot down behind enemy lines. After parachuting to safety he was taken in by some very kind people and then followed the railway line back to safety. He spent 14 days eating wild fruit and avoiding capture. When he made his back to safety he was nearly shot as they suspected he was a spy!
