I have been a fan on Josh Doyle’s music for quite a while and so when he emailed me about opening for him I was pretty excited. I had enjoyed the Dum Dums music when they were around and so I was delighted to play this show. I arrived at The Tin, my favourite Coventry venue that I know very well around 5.30pm to find The Intermission Project sound checking. They sounded great! I was warmly greeted by Josh and we both set up our merch stands together. The stage at The Tin isn’t the biggest by any means and by the time I took to the stage it was rather full of instruments!
I really enjoyed playing my songs to the gathered audience. There were many familiar faces as well as some new ones. I’m not sure I’ll ever get over people singing along to my songs. It really is a lovely feeling. I had some lovely comments particularly saying how strong my voice sounded.
Josh played a grand show. The band that backed him were great and he played a good mix of his own stuff and a few Dum Dums classics.
