A few weeks ago I played a show at my favourite home town venue; The Tin Music and Arts. The night was hosted and ran by She Makes War (Laura Kidd) and was the first of her Breakfast with Apollo nights that took place not in Bristol or London. Laura played at my album launch back last November and we have been in touch alot since then so it was great to play one of her nights. I really enjoyed playing my set as I was able to try out lots of things that I have been working on! My set included two new songs (Out Upon the Ocean and For the Souls of my Brothers) and three different guitars! I have had my Takemine guitar for a number of years and recently I have got myself a new Martin guitar (which I have named Oscar) but as well as this I also played a reworked version of Open (from Fingerprint EP) on my Telecaster. All of these new things were really exciting and I am looking forward to developing them further. Below is a video of one of the new songs, some photos from Redwood Photography and I few photos I took during the evening.
She Makes War was marvellous and I really enjoying joining her for a cover of Nirvana’s Been a Son. He is a Pegasus opened the evening and he really is one to watch out for.
Thank you for coming down.
