BLOGGED: MAKING LIVE VIDEOS AND PHOTOGRAPHS

May 23, 2019

I have been working with Rob from Redwood Photography for a number of years and he is genuinely one of the loveliest people I have met through my music. After much messaging and working things out (including an early morning run to check out the location) we finally met up very early one Saturday morning in Coventry. Why would you need to meet up so early? I hear you ask… well when you are recording a live video you need to be somewhere where people are going to walk past and make lots of noise or cars aren’t going to interrupt you. We actually met about 6.30am (yes, that is early isnt it?!) and began setting up. It’s very hard to get yourself in the right frame of mind and make sure your voice is in good shape when its actually pretty cold and very early.

Rob has expanded his range of gear since the last time we worked together and I actually love watching him work! We carefully created two live videos and below if the first one. Part of what I love about making videos like this is the surprise and slight awkwardness of members of the general public who stumble across you, they are never quite sure what to make of you and if I’m not actually singing I love to say good morning or hello!

Following the filming we then spent time taking a whole load of photographs to support the album release. Rob has done a wonderful job and I’m delighted with the results.
