  • LIVE SHOW – THE ALBUM LAUNCH

    December 18, 2013

BY STEVE A month ago today our debut album was officially released into the world. Two days before that we held the launch party for our album at The Tin Music and Arts, which is the venue that is formerly known as Taylor Johns. It’s a lovely quirky venue right on the canal on Coventry, in fact it is in the coal volts. We had spent a long time planning, organising and promoting the launch…

  • BY STEVE THE MALT CROSS, NOTTINGHAM (12th November 2013) After a few days break from shows it was time to drive to Nottingham to play at The Malt Cross. The venue had a great reputation and didn’t disappoint at all. I was slightly concerned about the journey up the M1 after the long journey to Leeds (that is a whole other blog) but it was all fine in the end. We arrived in plenty of…

  • MORE ALBUM PRESS

    December 17, 2013

We have been receiving lots of press and radio coverage over the last few weeks so we though we would update you with some of the kind words people are saying. First up you can read an interview with did with Muso’s Guide and you can listen above to the interview and live track we recorded at The Green Note for Tin Can Review. Mixtape Couture: “This album is truly stunning and a wonderful listen. From the quieter…

  • BY STEVE This show came about after Robbie Boyd’s management got in touch with Polly at Wild Sound. They asked if we would like to open for them at the Accademy in Birmingham which was very exciting. After a busy week of gigging we were on a roll as we arrived at the venue. When we arrived, Robbie and then band were busy sound checking and they sounded great. Crisp harmonies, catchy tunes, big guitars…

  • BY RACHEL We have been fortunate enough to be part of the “Wild Sound Recordings” clan for some time now. Recently it was the label’s 1st birthday…awwwww, bless the little fella! Our label boss Polly Paulusma, singer-songwriter extraordinaire (she’s not bribing me…honest Gov!) decided that we should have a little celebration at the Green Note cafe in Camden to mark the occasion, hurrah! On 30th October, my friend Cerys and I boarded a train from…

  • BY STEVE After such a busy time recently we are going to be slowly blogging about the recent bunch of live shows we have played… Back in October, one of the first dates on our little ‘Hospitality for Hope’ Tour was at the Brewhouse in Burton Upon Trent where we opened for Emily Baker. It is lovely venue and the hosts Al and Dawn really do look after their act,s well giving us lovely food and…

  • DEBUT ALBUM PRESS

    November 28, 2013

Our debut album, Hospitality for Hope, has been picking up some great press recently. Venture Magazine have given the album 9/10 and said: “Overall, I have to say that this album is unbelievable. It doesn’t just consist of songs that are folk or country, it moulds each track into a personal experience which differs every time. I noticed that each song had a message, whether that be to dance, be happy, or to share a…

  • MAKING THE LANTERN VIDEO

    November 6, 2013

BY STEVE Making the video for Lantern was a game of two halves (as they say!) because Barry Fitzgerald (Irish poet and film maker extraordinaire – CRE8TIVEDAY.COM) directed and filmed the mini figure footage first. We then decided that it would be great to include some footage of us performing the song. The idea for the mini figures came after I was inspired by the work of artist Slinkachu.  I attempted to make the video…
